Originally built as an exclusive island getaway for William Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan, this Victorian-era resort is comprised of five buildings and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978. Restoration during the 1980s established the resort as a historic hotel with modern amenities in unspoiled natural surroundings. The hotel consists of three main buildings surrounded by landscaped grounds in the center of the Jekyll Island Historic District.
