The boutique Hotel Telluride sits just four miles east of Telluride (Colo.), a premier ski resort in southwestern Colorado. During winters the Telluride Ski Resort offers downhill ski, snowboarding and cross- country skiing, and during summers the region abounds with outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, hiking and whitewater rafting. The Telluride-Mountain Village Station gondola, offering complimentary transportation between the two towns, is within walking distance of the hotel.
Hotels guests, often celebrities, well- heeled skiers or sports enthusiasts, will enter the hotel lobby to experience a two-story atrium, with vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams and a stone floor warmed with wool rugs.
