Location. The modern, nine-floor Grand Yavuz Hotel, completely renovated in 2005, is situated in the bustling Sultanahmet district in the heart of old Istanbul, within a kilometre of famed sights such as the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Istanbul Ataturk Airport is 20 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.

Expert Tip. Possibly the most eye- catching sight in the city, the old Byzantine cathedral of Hagia Sofia, 500 metres from the hotel, dates from the 6th century, and for hundreds of years was the biggest enclosed space in the world. It is now a museum, and no less impressive.
