Location. Overlooking Surin Beach and the Andaman Sea, Manathai Resort is in Phuket, Thailand, one-and-one-half kilometers from Bangtao Beach and two-and-one-half kilometers from Sing Cape.
Hotel Features. Manathai Resort's lobby features hardwood floors and rich woods illuminated with muted light from cylindrical chandeliers. Display cases exhibit Thai ceramics and art. Weaves, the hotel restaurant, offers a poolside menu in addition to dining room service. The restaurant provides 24-hour room service. Complimentary buffet breakfasts are served daily. The resort also includes a bar. The resort includes two outdoor pools and the Chofa Collections Spa, which provides a variety of massage techniques. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas, and the resort has a business center and meeting rooms. Pets are not permitted at the resort.
Guestrooms. The three-story boutique resort includes 52 guestrooms and suites decorated with Thai artwork, fabrics and dark wood furnishings. Coffee and tea makers, minibars, complimentary bottled water and refrigerators also are included. All guestrooms include bathrobes and slippers. There are no elevators. Expert Tip. Bangtao Beach, less than two kilometers from the resort, offers both the bustle and activities of a resort district and the quiet relaxation of an unspoiled beach. Activities in the resort area include golf, shopping at Laguna's Canal Village open-air markets and a variety of entertainment, including rock climbing and elephant rides. The northern tip of the beach is undeveloped and relatively quiet. The villagers of Cherng Talay, a small town close to the beach, make a living by fishing and farming much as their ancestors did.
