A contemporary hotel with large glass atrium, the Scandic Skelleftea is situated one kilometre from the historic old town and the Skelleftea Museum. This eight-floor hotel features 131 air-conditioned guestrooms, all of which are decorated in a Nordic-style decor with parquet floors, and include satellite television, trouser presses and hair dryers.
The lush atrium garden at the heart of the hotel provides a pretty location to relax with a book, and lies next to the two restaurants and bar. The children's playroom is also in the atrium garden and contains building blocks, drawing materials and movies to keep the kids entertained; bats and balls for table tennis are available from the front desk. Guests can work out in the gym before relaxing in the sauna and indoor pool. There is also a VIP sauna with TV, where guests can enjoy an evening with friends, for around SEK 175 per person, in parties of not less than five people; refreshments are included in the price and the sauna offers views across Skelleftea. Local attractions include the old town, one kilometre away, where guests can stroll around historical buildings dating back as far as the 17th century. Further afield, guests can ride the 13.5 kilometre-long cableway (once the longest in the world) over the Swedish countryside, starting 30 kilometres from the hotel. Skelleftea Airport (SFT) is 18 kilometres from the Scandic Skelleftea, around 20 minutes by car.
