Location. Les Jardins de la Medina is located in Marrakech medina, Morocco, 500 metres from the Royal Palace, and two kilometres from Djemma el Fna market square and Marrakech town centre.
Hotel Features. Once part of a Marrakchi prince's riad, les Jardins de la Medina has been converted into a peaceful boutique hotel. The high walls enclose a swimming pool and tranquil gardens, where guests can relax in hammocks surrounded by the scents of orange trees and jacaranda. Views over the busy Medina or towards the Atlas mountains can be admired from the hotel's several roof terraces. The extensive beauty services on offer at Les Jardins de la Medina range from a traditional hammam in the hotel's own Moorish baths to massage treatments and a spa tub. Expert Tip. It is illegal to cut down a palm tree in Marrakech, which has led to scenarios of palm trees being left to grow in the middle of pavements, especially in Marrakech's palmeraie area. It also means that many of the palm trees growing in Les Jardins de la Medina's garden are centuries old.

From Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK):
Distance to Les Jardins de la Medina is 5 kilometres/miles, approximately 10 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Two types of taxi are available at the airport: shared taxis (Grands Taxis) can seat six people, and private cabs (Petits Taxis) are for up to three passengers. The fare to the city centre should be approximately 50 MAD-60 MAD, and should be agreed in advance. The number 11 bus runs every 20-30 minutes to Djemma El Fna square, in the city centre. Services can be unreliable. The fare for a single journey is about 3 MAD. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Marrakech city centre is best explored by foot, as cars are unable to reach many of the narrow lanes in the Medina. Sand-coloured Petits Taxis can be used for short trips, and Grand Taxis are ideal for trips further afield. Horse-drawn carriages are a good way to travel around Marrakech, but the price should be agreed before travelling. Buses are regular and inexpensive, but can be overcrowded.
