Location. The Hotel Villa Kristina, a three-floor family-run hotel, was built in the early sixties on the hillside at Taormina and enjoys superb views across the Bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. The Villa Communale Gardens are 700 metres from the hotel and the Spiagghe Beaches are 800 metres away. Taormina railway station is one kilometre away and Catania Fontanarossa Airport is 60 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 60 minutes.
Hotel Features. The outdoor swimming pool, which has a poolside bar, sun loungers and parasols, is set on a sunny terrace with panoramic views of the Bay of Naxos (open April to October). Public areas are air-conditioned, Internet access is available (surcharge) and 24-hour room service is on offer. The hotel has a garage where guests can park on payment of a surcharge.
Guestrooms. The 25 air-conditioned guestrooms are spread over three floors and have simple decor with fabrics in green and white and light wood furnishings. All guestrooms open on to balconies with views over the sea and Mount Etna, and include satellite television, direct-dial telephones, complimentary Internet connections, minibars, safes and bathrooms with hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Seventeen kilometres from Taormina, on the slopes of Mount Etna, is the Castagno di Cento Cavilli, the Chestnut Tree of 100 Horses. This tree, split into three trunks, is reputed to be 2000 years old and is named from a legend that it sheltered 100 knights on horseback one stormy night.
