Set in a five-acre garden of orange and lemon groves, Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is a luxurious 19th-century hotel which is centrally situated off Sorrento's main Piazza, in a cliff-top position overlooking the Bay or Naples. Built at the site of the Roman Emperor August's villa, the hotel consists of three connecting buildings featuring ornate frescos, marble and trompe-l'oeil murals. Pompeii is 30 kilometres away, and Naples International Airport is 50 kilometres distance, an approximate driving of 75 minutes.

Getting there.Taxis are available form the airport; a typical taxi fare to the hotel is approximately 150 EUR. Airport shuttle buses run from the airport to Sorrento city centre. Trains run from Naples to Sorrento station, which is 500 metres from the hotel, and hydrofoils also run from Naples Beverello harbour to Sorrento harbour. Much of Sorrento can be explored on foot; boat excursions to Capri are available from Sorrento harbour.
Driving directions.From the airport take the A3 Napoli-Pompeii-Salerno motorway and exit at Castellammare di Stabia, then follow the signs to Sorrento. Once in Sorrento go to Piazza Tasso in the town centre where you will find the hotel's main gate.
