Taxis and hire cars are available from the airport. There is also a bus from the airport to Bari Central Station, where buses connect to Matera.
Driving directions: From the airport pass Modungo. Follow signs for Altamura-Matera along the SS 99. Enter Matera from the south entrance, turn left and take Via Lucana. Turn right and take Via Ridola, then turn left onto Via Casalnuovo (the Sassi entrance). From the Sasso Caveoso entrance, take Via B. Buozzi into S. Pietro Caveoso Square.
