Getting there. There is a public shuttle bus from the airport to Santa Maria Novella train station, the fare is 4.50 EUR and tickets can be purchased on board. There are then public buses from the train station to Santa Maria Maggiore Square for Apartamenti Centro, ask for the Dome or the Cathedral. A taxi from the airport will cost around 25 EUR. All prices are subject to change.
Getting around. Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre, and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Tickets are sold based on length of time, and are available for one, two, or 24 hours. There is a taxi rank in front of Santa Maria Novella Station.
