From Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP):
Distance to Hotel Metropole Suisse is 30 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis to central Milan cost about 65 EUR-75 EUR. The Malpensa Express train runs every 30 minutes between the airport's train station and the city centre (Cadorna station). Single tickets are approximately 9 EUR, and journey time is 40 minutes. The Malpensa shuttle bus runs to Stazione Centrale (central station) every 20 minutes. The fare is 4.50 EUR and journey time is 20 minutes. Shuttle services to other destinations, including Turin and Genova, are also available. Trains operate between Milan and Como San Giovanni, the nearest station to the hotel. Taxis are available at the airport. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The Hotel Metropole Suisse is next to Como's main square. Como is easy to explore on foot with pedestrianised areas in the old town centre. Taxis are readily available outside Como San Giovanni station and there are ferries for reaching other destinations around Lake Como. For exploring further afield, it could be useful to hire a car.
Driving directions. From Milan Malpensa Airport:
Take motorway A8 Como-Varese.
Then A9 Como-Chiasso.
Exit at Como Sud and follow directions to Como Lago, followed by signs to 'hotels' and finally to Hotel Metropole Suisse.
