Location. Secluded amid gentle hillsides blanketed by green shrubbery, the Stelle Marine comprises low-rise pastel buildings overlooking the Gulf of Arzachena and the rugged mountains beyond. The former fishing village of Cannigione is four kilometers away and Olbia Airport (OLB) is 32 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features.The hotel's 20-metre freeform pool with separate children's section is surrounded by a sundeck furnished with sun loungers. After dinner, guests relax in the spacious hotel living room, order drinks from the bar, and listen to a pianist singing ballads in English and Italian. Three times daily, the hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to Cannigione.
The restaurant has views over the sea and serves Italian and Sardinian specialities for lunch and dinner. Snacks and drinks are available all day in the bar, which has service in both the lounge and the pool area.
A 400-metre path leads from the hotel to Mannena Beach, a one-kilometre stretch of coarse light-coloured sand. The hotel beach club is open from 20 May to 1 October exclusively for guests. There are complimentary shades and sun loungers, showers, and a bar. Independent operators offer a range of water sports one kilometre from the hotel. Guests can hire bicycles at the hotel to tour the area.
Guestrooms. The 71 air- conditioned guestrooms are set in one and two-storey pastel coloured stucco buildings. Sea-view balconies feature wooden pergolas and are furnished with tables and chairs. Decor is light and simple with white walls, tile floors, and blue or terracotta colour schemes. Amenities include satellite TV, minibars and safes. Bathrooms have walk-in showers.
Expert Tip. From the village of Palau, eight kilometres north of the hotel, ferries operate to La Maddalena Island, the largest in the Maddalena Islands National Park. La Maddalena Island's town centre includes restaurants, bars, and cafés.
