Stone walls, azure pools, and a backdrop of mountains and sea strike a serene note at the Elounda Beach Hotel on Crete's northeast coast. Taxi is the recommended means of getting to the hotel. A chauffeured car service is available for airport and port transfers. The hotel can also arrange luxury cars services and helicopters. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxies in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
