Distance to Hotel Cocoon is 25 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The airport's train station is located between the two terminals on the basement level. The S8 and S1 S-Bahn trains leave every 20 minutes for Munich's main train station (Hauptbahnhof). Journey time is approximately 45 minutes, and single tickets cost 8.80 EUR. Tickets must be validated prior to travelling. The Lufthansa Airport bus also runs to the Hauptbahnhof every 20 minutes, and a single fare is 9.50 EUR. Hotel Cocoon is 15 minutes' walk from the train station. The tram service S2 also runs from the train station to Sendlinger Tor station, which is 200 metres from the Hotel Cocoon. Taxis to the city centre cost approximately 55-65 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Much of Munich's city centre is pedestrianised and easy to explore on foot. The city's integrated public transport system includes buses, trams, S-Bahn commuter trains, and U-Bahn underground trains. Tickets cover all modes of public transport. Taxis are available, but can be expensive.
