A grandiose country estate dating back to 1764, the Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg is set in the woodland of the Siebengebirge National Park overlooking the Rhine River, 20 kilometres from the city of Bonn. Formerly the German Federal State Residence, the hotel has in the past hosted international heads of state including Queen Elizabeth II and former US president Bill Clinton. The Rheinterrassen Restaurant offers gourmet French dining and wines served in a wood-panelled dining room flooded with natural light, or al fresco on the terrace overlooking the Drachenfels. From the airport take bus number 161 to the train station Cologne/Porz. From Cologne/Porz station take the Regional Express from platform 2 to Königswinter station (travelling time: 40 minutes), five kilometres from the hotel. The hotel can also arrange airport transfers for 46 EUR.
Driving directions: From the airport take the A59 in the direction of Bonn, then the B42 for Konigswater, exit at L331in the direction of the A3 and the hotel is on the left.
