Location. The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel is located in the Langdale valley, in the Lake District, England, about 10 miles from Windermere. One of the more remote valleys in the Lakes, Langdale is surrounded by peaks and fells including England's tallest mountain, Scafell Pike, three miles from the hotel. Hotel Features. Set in six acres of landscaped gardens, the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel has panoramic lakeland and mountain views. Built on a former medieval settlement, the hotel has ivy-covered slate walls in typical Lakeland style. The rustic lounge, complete with a log fire, is a great place to relax whilst sipping on one of the Scottish malt whiskeys from the hotel bar. Stickle Tarn is a beautiful lake which can be reached via a steep but well marked path in the Langdale valley.
