Location. The Harmony Makadi Bay Hotel & Resort is located on the Red Sea coast in the town of Hurghada, Egypt, adjacent to a its own private beach.
Hotel Features. Opened in 2006, the Harmony Makadi Bay Hotel & Resort comprises 46, two- storey villas, set amid 85,000 square metres of landscaped gardens. The rich, terracotta hues and sensual lines of the exterior, mimic those of the Egyptian desert while the cool interior draws guests in, via a white marble spiral staircase. Amenities include three interconnecting swimming pools with a poolside bar and hot tub and a children's pool. There is also a health club and beauty services.
A variety of dining options are available, including breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets from the Piazza Grande, seafood specialities from the Bella Vista beach restaurant and bar, and Italian cuisine from the Marco Polo Restaurant.
Conference facilities can accommodate up to 350 people, and wireless Internet access is available (surcharge).
A diving centre is located at the resort's private beach where guests can obtain equipment for snorkelling and other water sports. Bicycles and horses can be hired and there are facilities for beach volleyball and five-a-side football. A games room with a billiards table is located in the main building. There is a playground for children and a kids' club with organised activities. The Night Lounge has a discothèque.
Guestrooms. All 552 air-conditioned guestrooms have a balcony with views of either the swimming pool or the sea. Rooms are equipped with satellite television, wireless Internet (surcharge), direct-dial phones, minibars and safes. Private bathrooms come with a shower and a hair dryer.
Expert Tip. Visitors can get an up close view of the marine life along the coral reef without getting their feet wet at the Hurghada aquarium or by joining a glass-bottomed boat excursion.
