Location. Located on the tropical, sandy beach of Sanya Bay, 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the Chinese city of Sanya on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island, this resort hotel is seven kilometers (4.3 miles) from the West Island Water Sports and Diving Center and 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the culturally significant beach known as 'The End of the Earth'.
Hotel Features. The six-story Holiday Inn Sanya Bay Resort occupies a wide, sweeping building set on the edge of a broad bay. In front of the hotel a large, freeform outdoor swimming pool is flanked by a sundeck, thatched entertainment/sitting area and tall palm trees; beyond that lie the beach, the beach bar and the ocean. Three restaurants, offering Chinese cuisine, international café-style food and cocktails and snacks, provide both indoor and outdoor seating. Guests also have the use of a tennis court, a well-equipped fitness center and a health spa, featuring a special hot spring pool with 'fish massage' in addition to more familiar spa treatments. For the children there is a playground and a kids' club offering a range of activities. Further amenities include a comprehensive business center; seven conference/function rooms, including a ballroom; an on-site ATM and complimentary parking (100 spaces).
Guestrooms. All guestrooms are air conditioned and have balconies offering scenic views of the ocean or mountains. Amenities include cable/satellite televisions, minibars with refrigerators, tea/coffee makers, high-speed Internet access, two direct-dial phones and in-room safes.
Expert Tip. Exploring one of the island's many caves could provide an attractive alternative to sun and surf. Luobi Cave in Lizhigou Town is nearly 22 metres (24 yards) high, and two cave sites near Nanshan's Cultural Tourism Zone, about 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) west of Sanya city, contain numerous Tang Dynasty relics.
